It is the policy of the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities to receive public comment at its quarterly Board meetings and through other mechanisms as determined by the Board or Director. Public comment may be submitted via the contact form.
Per the Board’s Public Comment Policy (Updated December 14, 2016), public comment is received by the Board without questions or response. Board policy recommendations are also found in its Assessment of the Disability Services System.
If public comment is relevant to the work of a Board committee that addresses a systemic issue, the Executive Director, in coordination with the Board Chair, may refer the comment to that committee for consideration at the next Board meeting.
If public comment relates to an individual situation related to abuse, neglect or discrimination, Board staff shall respond to the commenters within 3 business days with information and referral that may be of assistance to that individual.
When written public comment is received by the Board, an acknowledgment of receipt will be sent to the commenter.
