Navigating Justice: School-to-Prison Pipeline
February 21 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Join us Friday, February 21, from 12 to 2 p.m. for a Statewide Continuing Education Workshop on Navigating Justice: School-to-Prison Pipeline.
This session aims to enhance understanding, provide data and offer strategies to help families and advocates navigate the school-to-prison pipeline. Attendees will receive a straightforward and approachable presentation on what the school-to-prison pipeline is, how educators push students from vulnerable populations through it, and where advocates in the disability community can make a considerable difference. This session will also focus on the calculation used to determine significant disproportionality, known as Comprehensive Coordinated Early
Intervening Services (CCEIS). Specific attention will be given to students of color, with disabilities, who are at higher risk for suspension and expulsion compared to other race/ethnicities.
Register now to attend! This meeting will be held virtually on Zoom.
