Strengthening Self-Advocacy through the ALLY Alliance

The ALLY Alliance is growing. More Persons with Disabilities are joining the self-advocacy movement. This project will support their growth and make the movement stronger. With this growth, the Alliance will improve systems.

The Arc of Virginia wants to help the ALLY Alliance to keep growing and to do more work. More Persons with Disabilities (PWD) are joining the self-advocacy movement. The Arc’s efforts will help the Alliance to be more organized. These efforts will also help the Alliance to have even more impact and improve systems. Through this project, The Arc will:

  1. Hire new staff to carry out project goals
  2. Provide training to people with developmental disabilities on leadership, and personal and legislative advocacy

Self-advocates will be able to talk with elected officials about the benefits of inclusive services. They will be able to change public policies.
