2026 Request for Proposals

The Virginia Board for People with Disabilities is seeking Proposal Applications in response to its Competitive Request for Proposal (RFP), due April 17, 2026, by 4:00 p.m. ET. The Board has reserved total funding of up to $200,000 for one or more grant projects under this RFP. Projects will begin by July 15, 2026, and are 100% federally funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Community Living, Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

The projects funded under the RFP, titled Creating Inclusive Communities, should be designed to support the implementation of community-based initiatives that further the recommendations in the Board’s FFY 2025 assessment of access to pre-employment transition services through the special education transition process.

In addition, Board staff will hold a virtual Technical Assistance Zoom webinar on March 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. ET, for applicants interested in learning more about submitting a proposal application. Advance registration is required.
